TESTING INFORMATION
The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) serves two purposes. The first purpose is to serve as a diagnostic tool that enables students to understand areas of strength and/or weakness related to the SAT. By using the detailed results to full advantage, students can improve their SAT scores.
The second purpose of the test is to register JUNIORS for the National Merit Scholarship Program. This program recognizes the highest-scoring juniors across the nation on a variety of levels, and offers scholarships on a competitive basis to the highest-scoring students. Some colleges also offer scholarships to students based on this program.
This test will be administered to all Sophomores and Juniors at Mt. Alvernia on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 in Scotus Hall.
